Volunteer Opportunities

Friendly Visitor:
Brighten a resident's day with regular visits and develop a special one-to-one relationship with a Bartels resident. Visitors can help residents write a letter, enjoy a hobby, take a stroll, read aloud or simply spend time talking and reminiscing.

Activities and Events:
Assist with resident activities such as bingo, crafts, music, games, gardening, baking and more. projects, special events and outings. Take residents to and from special events and outings. Service refreshments at birthday parties and join in the fun. Sign up to be an ice cream server at the Droste Ice Cream Den, open daily 2 - 4 p.m.
Entertainment:
Entertain residents with your musical talents, hobbies, magic tricks, slides from your travels, or any other interesting activity that brings enjoyment to you and our residents.

Deliveries:
Deliver balloons and flowers for special occasions.

Worship Volunteer:
Share your musical talents by playing the organ or other musical instrument and singing hymns for Sunday chapel services and other chapel events.

Pet Visits:
Bring your favorite pet to Bartels for visits so that residents can interact with it and reminisce about pets they may have had in the past. We offer a special orientation to help make the visits rewarding for you, your pet and the residents. Pet visits are scheduled the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month.

Clerical Assistance:
Assist Bartels staff with bulk mailings, filing, sorting and other clerical tasks.

Bartels Auxiliary Volunteers:
Bartels Auxiliary Volunteers meet three times a year with informative programs and speakers and to recognize volunteers for their service to Bartels.
