Pastor Keith Tomlinson and Pastor Lois Knutson provide a full time chaplaincy ministry to all residents, whatever their church affiliation. The Chaplain's ministry does not replace, but supplements, the resident's home pastor and congregation.

Three Sunday worship services for all denominations take place at Bartels. All residents and guests are invited to attend. Daily devotions, weekly Bible studies, special services, and personal visitations by the Chaplain are also provided.

Weekly Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) services are led by area clergy, and there is also a Roman Catholic mass held each month. See worship schedule for time and day of all services

Chaplaincy Endowment

The Bartels Board of Directors has formally announced their intent to fully fund the Bartels Chaplaincy Endowment to $1.2 million by the end of 2006. Bartels' full- time chaplaincy program is at the heart of our mission, and we are dedicated to ministering to the unique spiritual needs of our residents, regardless of their church affiliation. By fully funding our Chaplaincy Endowment, we will ensure that this service does not become vulnerable to operational budget challenges.

Donors who support the Chaplaincy Endowment Campaign may make their donation through an immediate or pledged cash gift, or by a planned gift such as will bequests, trust fund, life insurance, real estate, or other planned gift.

Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community recognizes that an individual's personal relationship with God is often the sustaining and enduring aspect of life. Bartels provides a full time chaplaincy ministry to all residents, whatever their church affiliation, with two Lutheran pastors on the staff: Pastor Keith Tomlinson and Pastor Lois Knutson. The Chaplain's ministry does not replace, but supplements, the residents home pastor and congregation.

Three Sunday worship services for all denominations are held in three locations on the Bartels campus. All residents and guests are invited to attend. Daily devotions, weekly Bible studies, special services, and personal visitations by the Chaplain are also provided. Weekly Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod services are led by area clergy, and a Roman Catholic mass takes place each month.

Residents own pastors are encouraged to visit often and make use of our chapel facilities. We will notify your pastor about your admission to Bartels, upon request.
