This course utilizes standards of practice for resident care as defined in the Omnibus Reconciliation Act (OBRA) guidelines and has been approved by the Department of Inspections and Appeals.
Students who successfully complete this course will be eligible to take the state competency written and skills examinations to be registered as a certified nurse assistant.
Course Overview:
A certified instructor introduces students to the basic health care knowledge and principles relating to resident care, as performed by the nurse assistant.
All training takes place at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, providing a fully equipped long-term care laboratory setting for demonstration, practice, and evaluation of skills techniques used by nurse assistants.
